Senior or Project Geotechnical Engineer

Romig Engineers is seeking a project or senior level geotechnical engineer to join our team. Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare geotechnical workscope and proposals capitalizing on client inquiries,
  • Manage projects and prepare geotechnical reports, plan reviews and other project tasks in compliance with budget, schedule and client expectations,
  • Develop technical expertise and staff and client management skills with review and guidance by our senior staff,
  • Provide guidance as well as leadership to support, field and office staff,
  • Increasingly pursue project contacts and leads for new work and teaming opportunities, and
  • Work with Principal Geotechnical Engineers to increase technical, business development, and management responsibilities.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • M.S. in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis;
  • California P.E. license working towards the Geotechnical Engineer registration;
  • Minimum 4+ years of California geotechnical consulting experience;
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships and expand our client base;
  • Self motivated with strong interest in career advancement to the Principal Engineer level.; and,
  • Ability to work well with others, as well as, work independently.

Soils Engineering Technician

Romig Engineers is seeking an experienced soils engineer technician for our geotechnical group. Field responsibilities will include various geotechnical construction observation and testing tasks such as compaction testing for site grading, utility installation and pavements, observation of pier, pile, footing and mat foundations, and preparation of Daily Field Reports for each site visit. Office tasks will include preparing summary letters and cost estimates for construction phase projects, and helping coordinate and schedule construction observation and testing services.Potential to work into a supervisory position for the right candidate.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in construction observation and testing for a geotechnical firm;
  • Nuclear density gauge certification;
  • NICET certification a plus;
  • Must be in good health and capable of carrying nuclear density testing equipment;
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record;
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; and
  • Ability to work well with others, as well as, work independently.
