Ben Romig, P.E.
Director of Staff Development
Benjamin, widely known as Ben, holds significant roles in our organization as a project engineer and principal. Hailing from the Bay Area, Ben's journey began at Junipero Serra High School, where he excelled as a wide receiver and developed his teamwork and leadership skills. He then ventured to San Diego State University, earning a degree in Civil Engineering and becoming a lifelong SDSU basketball fan.
While in San Diego, Ben worked as a staff engineer for a local geotechnical engineering firm. He spent most days toting a nuclear gauge, observing mass grading projects, and honing his engineering and construction guidance skills. In 2019, Ben brought his talents to the Bay Area, where he balanced working for Romig Engineers and working towards his master’s degree. In 2023, he obtained a master’s in Civil Engineering.
Ben manages a wide range of projects and enjoys working with design teams and homeowners to provide solutions to building in the geologically hazardous Bay Area. However, Ben's true expertise lies in mentoring and nurturing young geologists and engineers.
Ben holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University.
